Mono-crystalline solar panels are made up of a single crystal silicon, that are then formed into bars and cut into wafers. They are more expensive yet more efficient than most other solar panels.
Poly-crystalline panels are multiple fragments of silicon melted together to form wafers. They are less efficient and less expensive. Their solar cells have a blue hue compared to mono-crystalline panels, which have a black hue.
Our full range of solar panels come in a range of bespoke sizes. Whether you have a small or large property, we will work with you to create a renewable energy source that is perfectly suited to the dimensions of your property.

From 2025, Gas boilers will be banned from new homes in a bid to tackle emissions. Air source heats pumps are an alternative and sustainable way to heat your home and help with climate change. Installed to the back or side of your property, the heat pump absorbs heat from the air. An air source heat pump extracts heat from the outside air in the same way that a fridge extracts heat from its inside.
Air source heat pumps can get heat from the air even when the temperature is as low as -15°C. The warm air generated can be used to heat radiators, underfloor heating and water cylinders.
From the 1st December 2011, the installation of an air source heat pump on domestic premises is considered to be permitted development, not needing an application for planning permission.
Earn up to £10,000 back in 7 years at 10.7p per unit through the UK government’s renewable heat incentive (RHI).
Please feel free to contact Fortuna World for a bespoke quote for your next home improvement project. A member of our friendly staff will be in contact as soon as possble to discuss your requirements.
If you are looking at the installation of solar panels, you may be able benefit from The Smart Export Guarantee(SEG) that starts January 2020.
The Smart Export Guarantee has been introduced by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and will require most energy suppliers to put measures and systems into place that benefits homeowners by exporting clean and unused energy back to the grid.
The SEG applies to customers that are investing into renewable energy in the form of solar PV panels, micro combined heat and power, hydro, anaerobic digestion and domestic wind turbines.
Despite this not being put in place until January 2020, one energy supplier, Octopus, has already introduced the “Outgoing Octopus” offer. This early introduction of the Smart Export Guarantee is available to customers with the correct smart metre.
Octopus Energy have stated they will pay 5.5p/kWh of electricity that is exported, which is higher than the current Export Tariff rate.
There are limits on which renewable energy installations are eligible for the SEG, but most typical domestic solar systems are well within the limits. If you are already receiving payments under the Feed-in Tarriff scheme that ended March 2019, you will not be eligible for SEG payments, but you can choose to opt out or choose another tariff offering 100% renewable energy.
If you are planning to have your property improved with renewable energy, whether it be solar panels or heat pumps, get in touch today. We can advise you on the Smart Export Guarantee as well as many more benefits of renewable energy.
